  1. Hello Song- This original song is sung at the beginning of every one of our music classes- a routine which prepares children for the music class fun that’s about to happen! In this song, we say Hello in English, French (Bonjour) and Oneida (Shekoli, pronounced say-go-lee)!

  2. The Tailor and The Mouse- This song explores the natural minor key (also called aeolian mode), and has a tempo change between the choruses and bridges. Using an instrument helps physicalize the music and embody the rhythm.

  3. Caimarusa- A Spanish folk song from Colombia, this catchy song in a happy, major key will introduce the children to an example of world music

  4. If You’re Happy and You Know It- A favourite among young children, this song is engaging and explores different emotions we can feel through music.

  5. Scarborough Fair- Our lullaby, which is a great time for a cuddle and rock! Scarborough Fair is a traditional English folk song in the Dorian mode, which gives the song a sad and wistful feel.

  6. Goodbye Song- This original song is sung at the end of every class. Singing the same song each time helps us transition from music time to moving onto the next task. Here, we say Goodbye in English, French (Au Revoir) and Oneida (Nʌki’wah, pronounced ne-kee-wah)!

Amanda's play along video two (drop down for video details)

  1. Hello Song- This original song is sung at the beginning of every one of our music classes- a routine which prepares children for the music class fun that’s about to happen! In this song, we say Hello in English, French (Bonjour) and Oneida (Shekoli, pronounced say-go-lee)!

  2. Mary Wore a Red Dress- This upbeat song in a major key explores different pieces of clothing, which we can mimic with our egg shakers. Using rhythm instruments help children feel the tempo and create a beat themselves.

  3. Spring Song- This original spoken rhyme helps children feel a steady rhythm, while exploring the sounds of springtime.

  4. Five Little Speckled Frogs- This childhood favourite entices children with fun hand motions, while practicing numeracy with counting frogs.

  5. Numi Numi- This beautiful Hebrew lullaby is a perfect time for a cuddle to wind down music class. This song is in the Phrygian mode, which is often used in Jewish music. Numi Numi exposes the children to world music in another language, along with a less common mode with an interesting and beautiful sound.

  6. Goodbye Song- This original song is sung at the end of every class. Singing the same song each time helps us transition from music time to moving onto the next task. Here, we say Goodbye in English, French (Au Revoir) and Oneida (Nʌki’wah, pronounced ne-kee-wah)!
